5 Reasons to Start a Loving Kindness Meditation Practice today

You know that feeling of disconnection to others? I’ve felt it keenly at different times during our pandemic year and beyond. We’ve made clever adaptations of course - like Zoom and all sorts of video calls. They’ve helped for sure.

I want to tell you about one practice that made a big difference for me - both to practice and teach this year. It’s called Loving Kindness meditation, also known as “Metta”. It is simple and easy.

Loving Kindness meditation has been practiced for centuries. Here’s what the studies show…

👉🏽After just one session, people reported increased feelings of social connection and positivity towards strangers.

👉🏽Significantly decreased PTSD symptoms.

👉🏽Decreased pain and anger in people who suffer from chronic low back pain.

👉🏽Increase in positive emotions such as compassion, joy, contentment, gratitude, amusement and awe.

👉🏽Decreased depressive symptoms.

Ready to try a session of Metta? I hope so! I recorded a 10 minute Loving Kindness meditation just for you.

Spend 10 minutes dropping into your space of connection and empathy and let me know how it goes.
